Benjamin Rollins Caldwell For Votivo

Today, Benjamin Rollins Caldwell and Votivo announce their product collaboration, the limited edition BINARY CANDLE. Capturing the essence of Caldwell’s futuristic take on electronic lifecycles in both aesthetic and distinctive recyclable materials, Votivo and Caldwell have partnered to create an affordable, yet covetable and artistically rendered masterpiece.

A self- proclaimed ‘re-inventor,’ Benjamin has been tapped to lend his meticulously designed works of art to the likes of pop culture. As the centerpiece of Lady Gaga’s Art Pop album campaign, The Binary Chair has been shadowing Gaga’s tour stops and acting as a “means of communication” between the pop star and her fans. It’s in this creative journey, where art and music collide, that the inspiration for the BINARY CANDLE was born.

In keeping with his sensibilities, similar to the Binary Chair, the BINARY CANDLE packaging is covered in a handcrafted collage of motherboards, computer chips, and hard drive disks. The Binary Collection by Benjamin Rollins Caldwell incorporated outdated computer and electronic parts in an effort to bring awareness to the vast amounts of electronic wastes that our modern lifestyles create. The methodically crafted exterior of each box ensures a long life for the aromatic candle and will surely become a one-of-a-kind art collector’s piece.

The candle’s fragrance is a complexly rich, multi-layered scent featuring the following notes: Top – Metallic Accords, Bergamot; Middle- Jasmine, Lavender, Basil, Clove, Eucalyptus; Base – Sandalwood, Patchouli.

The candle and box both incorporate colorful electrical wires instead of the common hemp string used on traditional Votivo aromatic candles. All aspects of the BINARY CANDLE are natural and recyclable. Everything from the unique natural soy blend wax designed to optimize clean burning and fragrance throw to the 100% post consumer fiber board materials to the candle glass that is made in the USA and is recyclable.

A perfect gift and collector’s item, the BINARY CANDLE retails for $32 and can be purchased starting May 28th at http://www.votivo.com/binary- candle.aspx

Owned and operated by the Caldwell family, Votivo is based out of Spartanburg, South Carolina. Benjamin Rollins Caldwell previously served as Votivo’s Brand Manager and Designer before opening his design studio BRC Designs.
