Bites Nearby: British ImportsBy Stephen KeatonPlymouth.Patch.com

Plymouth, MA – Locals do not have to drive far to find specialty food stores. Take a trip to downtown Plymouth and you will come across British Imports, where, according to owner Unity MacLean, you will see the same products found in supermarkets in Britain. Some of the most popular products, MacLean tells, are Branston pickle and sauces, Scottish meat pies and the Cadbury Flake and Crunchie chocolate bars. The English sausages and meat pies, and the Irish sausages and bacon, also go over well with customers. Another big seller is crisps, or chips, which come in a number of flavors like tomato ketchup, cheese and onion, prawn cocktail, smoky bacon and beef and onion.
