Buffalo Games Wins Creative Child Magazine Preferred Choice Award

Buffalo, NY – Buffalo Games, makers of the Monster Maker card game, have been granted a Creative Child Magazine 2007 Preferred Choice Award in the “card games for kids” category. Monster Maker is an outrageous race to create colorful Monsters by trading and exchanging “parts cards” with opponents or drawing from the “garbage pile”. A creative Monster Maker storybook is also included in each pack. The game can be played by 2-5 players and is recommended for children 6 years and up.

“Watching kids play this game puts a smile on my face,” said Paul Dedrick, president of Buffalo Games. “It’s great to see them trade, learn to share, and creatively piece together their colorful monsters, and especially gratifying to see their level of interaction and imagination during the game. I think it’s our job as a game maker to help families laugh, play and grow together, and it’s great to be recognized for just that with this Preferred Choice Award,” he added.

Creative Child Magazine is a national publication that provides parents with the latest information on how to nurture creativity in their children. The magazine’s testing department receives over 1,000 sample products. A panel of judges including child psychologists and child educators monitor a pre-selected group of children whose ages correspond with the appropriate products. The panel then rates each product based on four factors: educational value, creative nurturing, creative play and overall value with respect to retail price. The Preferred Choice Award is an award that is given to those products that exceed expectations based on the criteria for nurturing creativity and education in children.

All award winners will be officially announced on-line and in the November issue of Creative Child Magazine released simultaneously with the annual toy guide.

Buffalo Games is a leading manufacturer and producer of over 200 award-winning board games, jigsaw puzzles, card games and accessories. Founded in 1986, the company’s headquarters and facilities are located in Buffalo, New York.
