Buyers Market of American Craft Named among Nation’s Largest Tradeshows

Baltimore, Md. —The Buyers Market of American Craft, the nation’s largest wholesale craft show, is among the top 200 tradeshows in the United States, according to Tradeshow Week magazine.

The ranking lists the nation’s largest tradeshows, based on number of exhibitors and number of attendees, among other criteria.

Held semi-annually at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, Pa., the Buyers Market features artist-made work in every medium including ceramics, glass, wood, metal, jewelry, paper and more. The show annually attracts approximately 9,000 attendees representing more than 3,000 retailers, galleries, gift shops, museum stores and other craft retailers.

“We’re honored to receive this recognition,” said show director Christine Kloostra. “No other show in the country offers as much handmade work by American and Canadian artists.”

The next Buyers Market takes place August 4-6, 2007, and will feature nearly 900 exhibiting artists. The summer show recently changed its dates to Saturday through Monday, based on feedback it had received from its attendees.

The Buyers Market also recently announced the debut of its Letterpress Pavilion, featuring artist-designed, hand-printed items such as stationary, greeting cards, envelopes and other paper products.
