Byers’ Choice Announces Its Harvest Celebration

Bucks County, Pa. — This fall, a family tradition returns to Bucks County. On Friday, Sept. 24 through Sunday, Sept. 26, Byers’ Choice Ltd., makers of the famous Caroler figurines, hosts its Harvest Celebration at the company’s headquarters in Chalfont, Pa.

The Byers’ Choice Harvest Celebration is held once every two years. The weekend-long event honors scenic Bucks County and creates an opportunity for friends and family to gather, share stories and enjoy interactive crafts and food.

“This year we have a full schedule of exciting events for the whole family,” said Joyce Byers, founder and designer. “From lunch and dinner buffets to workshop tours and design your own Caroler activities, the weekend is sure to be a great way for friends and families to have fun together.”

Attendance in years past typically reaches 4,000 people – some from as far as Alaska. Space is limited for some of the planned activities and advanced registration is recommended. Please visit www.byerschoice.com and fill out a registration form, or call Byers’ Choice at 215-822-6700. Non-registered guests are welcome, but some activities may be full.

“September is a beautiful time to visit scenic Bucks County,” said Jeff Byers, vice president of marketing for Byers’ Choice. “We welcome everyone into the home of Byers’ Choice and plan to provide them with an enjoyable and memorable experience.”

Friday, Sept. 24
The festival kicks off Friday at 5:30 p.m. with a wine and cheese reception under a tent in the formal gardens. Renowned storyteller Jonathan Kruk caps off the evening with a suspenseful rendition of Washington Irving’s “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.” Admission to Friday’s event costs $20 per person.

Saturday, Sept. 25 and Sunday, Sept. 26
The celebration continues through Saturday and Sunday with family friendly activities such as a unique quilt exhibit and scarecrow and pumpkin displays at 10 a.m. Guided workshop tours are offered throughout the weekend to visitors free of charge. During the afternoon, a lunch buffet provided by The Salvation Army is served for $7.50 per person. The menu contains various soups, cider and desert.

Guests also have the opportunity to design and accessorize their own Caroler figurine. The process starts with a wire frame, plaster and tissue paper to sculpt the body. The Caroler’s heads are pressed out of clay, and participants can then choose the facial features. Clothing, decorations and accessories are chosen and a Byers’ Choice artisan continues to assemble the Caroler. Registration is required and the activity costs $65.

A harvest dinner buffet will be served Saturday at 6 p.m. The feast includes seasonal favorites such as roast turkey, top round beef, mashed potatoes, vegetables and other festive treats. Admission to dinner is $50 per person.
