Candy Hearts: Sarah’s Candies Sweetens up Valentine’s Day
Sioux City, IA – Nothing says Valentine’s Day more than something’s that’s been double-dipped in chocolate.
Or at least that’s the opinion of Michelle Gehrke-Herwynen, who took over ownership of Sarah’s Candies — a business founded by her mother-in-law Sarah Herwynen — in 2012.
“Chocolate just goes hand-in-hand with Valentine’s Day,” Gehrke-Herwynen explains, behind the candy counter of her 508 Nebraska St. shop. “It’s a perfect partnership.”
