Cash Mob Descends on Local Bookstore — to ShopBy Matthew WoodsOurMidlands.com

Midland, MI – A mob of more than 20 people amassed outside a local business, waiting to make entry — to shop.

The target of Tuesday’s “cash mob” was Pathway Christian Books & Gifts, located at 415 S. Saginaw Road. Shoppers, both regulars and new customers, came to the business at 2 p.m., with ideas for Christmas gifts or something else that caught their eye. The “cash mob,” a group of people who assemble at a business to bring money and support, is a somewhat recent creation, all coordinated via social media outlets.

RelyLocal, located at 2014 N. Saginaw Road, PMB 141, makes its mission of promoting local businesses, all with the intent of keeping as much area money working in the community that supports those local businesses.
