CMC Gears Up for Busy January Gift & Home Market Debuting View Tradeshow, New Resources and Special Events

The California Market Center (CMC) will be hosting the CMC Gift & Home Market, Tuesday – Tuesday, January 22 – 29, 2013, from 9am to 6pm daily, with extended hours until 8pm on Friday, January 25. This edition of Market will offer an unmatched variety of holiday and seasonal collections, expanded resources, including the arrival of new showrooms, and the debut of VIEW Gift & Home Show, as well as the endless fashion, accessory and kids resources throughout the building. Furthermore, buyers and designers will find a variety of special events and hospitality throughout the Market, adding to their experience at the CMC.

“We are thrilled by the growing strength and endless cross-over merchandising possibilities our Gift and Home resources offer to the hundreds of fashion, kids, and accessory lines throughout the CMC,” said Gerry Seibel, Vice President of New Business Development for Gift, Home and Design at the CMC. “Retailers will find all types of product categories that cater to their customer wants and needs, not to mention we are the strongest resources for seasonal gift and home buyers in the Western US.”

New companies debuting this Market include Maxwell Dickson, a custom wall décor, fabric, and furniture company in Suite C919, NRB Originals, who carries accent furniture, headboards, and lighting, in Suite C1125, and ZIZI Showroom, who specializes in seasonal, holiday, and floral in Suite B1251. Additionally, new lines that can be found this Market include Interlude Home, Reliant Ribbon, COTE Table, Weiman, Bamboo, Gold Leaf, GKI Bethlehem, Lynn Haney Collection, Sunfish Sales, and Art Plates, plus many more.

VIEW, the new Los Angeles Gift & Home Tradeshow, will début at the CMC January 24-27, 2013, running concurrently with the CMC Gift & Home Market. VIEW will spotlight a juried showcase of companies that include Eric Cortina, Dessau Home, Abigails, Trumpette, Gumdrop, Scoop, Chibella Knits, Pink Lining, Paper Doll Styles, Judy’s Collection, Bella Bundles, Maxwell Dickson, Gold Leaf Design, Belle Meade Signature, iScream, Bink’d Pierce Free Earrings, AlloGio, UnMinuto, INABAG, Thehaki, G-Case, Melrose International, Ticings, Whether Bags, Deuvo Gourmet Sweets, Side B Pillows, Rosenberg Group, The Happy Closet, Kidwick Books, Michaelson Entertainment, and many more.

A refreshing and modern new take to convention-center type shows, VIEW will be presented in the fashionable, loft-style Penthouse event venue on the CMC’s 13th floor, and will take place every January and July. Kelsey Riley, VIEW Tradeshow Manager, said “This show is generating a lot of excitement, which we are thrilled about. It is gearing up to be a really great tradeshow, and we are looking forward to this first edition.”

Buyers, interior designers, and industry guests are invited to enjoy a variety of perks, including a complimentary breakfast Wednesday, January 23 through Sunday, January 27 in the Buyers Lounge, Suite B271, from 9:00am – 10:30am each day. There will also be a press area for all media outlets to take advantage of in the Buyers Lounge, featuring free wireless Internet, printers, fax machine, and a comfortable place to take a break. They are also invited to attend multiple ribbon cutting ceremonies at VIEW, Thursday January 24 at 11:00am, and Maxwell Dickson in Suite C 919, NRB Originals in Suite C1125, and ZIZI Showroom in Suite C1251. The showroom ribbon cuttings will take place at 4:00pm, 4:15pm, and 4:30pm, respectively, on Friday January 25. Furthermore, Friday, January 25 from 5pm – 7pm on floors 9C and 12C there will be a wine and cheese reception open to all industry guests, as well as a champagne and cheese celebration at VIEW Thursday and Friday, January 24 and 25, from 4:00pm – 6:00pm. Lastly, buyers will find assorted refreshments on show floors, courtesy of Honest Tea.

Attendees will enjoy unmatched conveniences at the CMC, such as extensive underground parking, free with any purchase order placed in a CMC showroom or at VIEW, and complimentary shuttle services to host hotels and the LA Mart, and a complimentary luggage check will be available at the registration desk in the lobby for added convenience.

The CMC Gift & Home Market is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, January 22, 2013, and runs through Tuesday, January 29, 2013. VIEW Gift & Home Tradeshow will debut in the penthouse of the CMC from Thursday, January 24 through Sunday, January 27, 2013.
