Creativeworld Continues to Grow: The Entire International Hobby, Handicrafts and Artists’ Requisites Sector Represented in Frankfurt

The trend towards arts & crafts and the desire for greater individuality continues. The result is a growing range of products for creative handicrafts. For Creativeworld, this means more exhibition space because more manufacturers want to use the fair as a platform to launch their new products. “Hall 4.1 will be fully occupied again and is already completely booked up. Therefore, we have decided to also open Hall 4.2 to permit even more product presentations by the hobby, handicrafts and artists’ requisites sector”, says Creativeworld Director Michael Reichhold. Among the new companies taking part in 2014 will be Acrilex Tintas Especiais (Brazil), Decohobby Bastelbedarf en gros (Germany), Mitsubishi Pencil (Japan), DMC Creative World Ltd. (Great Britain), Bruynzeel Sakura and Royal Talens (both The Netherlands).

Every year, Creativeworld (25 to 28 January 2014) attracts more than 7,200 international trade visitors from the hobby, handicrafts and artists’ requisites sector to Frankfurt am Main where they can discover the latest products and trends. For exhibitors, too, Creativeworld is the most important international venue for showing the flag in the market. Hence, the number of exhibitors has increased continuously over recent years – with 236 taking part in 2013.

Additional exhibition space in Hall 4.2

Some of Hall 4.2 will be occupied by Creativeworld exhibitors. Also in the hall will be Paperworld exhibitors with school articles. They include Paxos (Greece), Undercover (Germany), Safta (Spain) and Academy Group (Russia). “This combination of products is ideal for both Creativeworld and Paperworld visitors because the trade often looks for supplementary merchandise from these segments and exhibitors here can reach even more potential customers”, explains Michael Reichhold. Accordingly, emphasis will be given in Hall 4.2 to the young-consumer target group – with exercise books, pads, satchels and pencils on the one hand and handicrafts paper, stickers and creative sets for children on the other. Many new exhibitors and international companies from the creative sector will be making presentations in Hall 4.2.

“The fact that Creativeworld is now located more or less in the middle of Paperworld – close to writing utensils in Hall 4.0 and school articles in 4.2 – represents a qualitative boost for the fair. We are looking forward to a successful meeting with the sector and numerous contacts with national and international customers”, says Stephan Rayher, CEO of Rayher Hobby GmbH.

Registrations already received from the sector’s key players

The entire sector will be taking part in Creativeworld in Frankfurt am Main from 25 to 28 January 2014. To date, registrations have been received from, for example, Buntpapierfabrik Ludwig Bähr, Efco, Frechverlag, Heyda, Hobbygross Erler and C.Kreul. Additionally, Rayher Hobby, Rico Design, H. Schmincke, Eberhard Faber and Marabu will be showing their current products. “We have registered for Creativeworld 2014 because our annual presentation in Frankfurt is always a success and enables us to make new, valuable international contacts. We regard ourselves as partners of a fair that recognises the growing significance of the creative sector and promotes it in cooperation with manufacturers and the trade”, says Antje Wistof, Creative Paints Director, Marabu GmbH & Co. KG. All exhibitors will entice visitors from the retail, wholesale and import / export trades with their creative assortments, participatory product demonstrations and other highlights. “The creative experience and the lively atmosphere make Creativeworld a unique platform for ideas. Trade visitors are very enthusiastic about the opportunity it gives them to try out the latest trends, materials and techniques”, says Michael Reichhold.

Significantly more international orientation at Creativeworld

Creativeworld is becoming increasingly international from year to year. At Creativeworld 2013, the proportion of exhibitors from outside Germany reached 68 percent – and this trend continues. “The number of international participants is increasing on both the exhibitor and visitor sides. This shows that the handicrafts trend is continuing unabated – worldwide and not just in Germany. Creativeworld has developed into an established international platform and made a name for itself worldwide”, says Michael Reichhold. In 2013, 44 percent of visitors made their way to Frankfurt from 79 different countries.

Around 180 companies from outside Germany have already registered for 2014. They include ColArt International Holdings (Great Britain), Pebeo and Decopatch (France), Creative Company (Denmark), Fedrigoni (Italy), Mitsubishi Pencil (Japan), Brevillier Urban & Sachs (Austria) and Industrias Masats and Jovi (Spain). “As an international company active on a global scale, we take part in Creativeworld to present the complete range of ColArt products to regular and potential customers from all over the world”, says Fleur Meurer van Heek, Head of E-commerce, ColArt International Holdings.

Partner Country USA: creative trends and news from the sector in North America

The USA will be one of the focal points at Creativeworld 2014. To date, registrations have already been received from 25 companies wanting to present their latest products at the fair. Decopatch, stamping, scrapbooking and quilting are all well established in the German market and very popular with numerous handicrafts fans. Visitors will be able to find out about other new products and creative innovations offered by US manufacturers and how the sector is developing from both exhibitors from the USA and a special programme of lectures in Hall 4.2. At the ‘Creative Talks’, experts will discuss current trends while exhibitors demonstrate new techniques and instigate discussions.

Imaginative complementary programme attracts visitors

The varied and interesting complementary programme at Creativeworld has been extremely successful. At the Trend Show, visitors can gain inspiration from new creative ideas, future-oriented trend presentations and a wide variety of materials. Additionally, a handicrafts table gives them an opportunity to try their hand at the latest trends and produce their own creations.

As at previous events, the coveted ‘Creative Impulse Award’ – the Oscar of the hobby, creative and artists’ requisites sector – will also be presented at 2014. Additionally, the products entered and selected for an award will be put on show throughout the fair.

For the second time, handicrafts fans will be showing their individual and creative works at ‘Creative Hands’. The best of them will be chosen during an awards ceremony and also shown in a special exhibition throughout the fair. This year, the search is on for ‘My Bag’ – the individually designed bag.
