Dallas Market Center Honored as a Top 100 Place to Work in Dallas-Fort Worth

Dallas Market Center (DMC) today announced that The Dallas Morning News has recognized DMC as one of the Top 100 Places to Work in Dallas-Fort Worth (D-FW) for the third consecutive year in the midsize companies’ category. The best places to work list includes 30 large companies, 35 midsize companies and 35 small companies.

Every year, Dallas Market Center welcomes 200,000 buyers and holds more than 50 trade and special events. The marketplace, founded in 1957 by real estate developer Trammell Crow and managed by Market Center Management Company (MCMC), brings together specialty and department store buyers, wholesalers, manufacturers, product designers and interior design professionals from all 50 states and 85 countries.

The corporate culture at DMC allows employees to dress casually during non-market weeks, listen to music as they work, and provides a paid day off in order to volunteer for a cause of their choice. The spacious, open-office design allows creative ideas to flow with ease, encouraging the sharing of ideas amongst employees. DMC offers perks such as holiday pay, including each associate’s birthday, as well as monthly office celebrations designated for employees with recent birthdays and/ or company anniversaries. DMC has 53 employees who have been with the company for 20 or more years.

To qualify for the Top 100 list, an individual must first nominate a company. Once nominated, company employees are asked to fill out a survey to gauge how they feel about their job and workplace. Nearly 70,000 workers from companies in the D-FW area filled out questionnaires for this year’s Top 100 list.
