Dallas Holiday & Home Expo Set For January 19-25, 2011

Dallas, TX – Holiday & Home Expo®, the nation’s only tradeshow devoted exclusively to permanent floral, seasonal décor and related decorative accessories, is set for January 19-25, 2011 at Dallas Market Center, the world’s most complete wholesale marketplace. Holiday & Home Expo will run in conjunction with the Dallas Total Home & Gift Market (January 19-25). The FINDS Dallas Temp Show will be open January 21-24.

Exhibitors will feature thousands of new Christmas products – Christmas trees, tree skirts and toppers, ornaments, collectibles, wreaths and swags, garlands, berries and branches, containers and baskets, textiles, tabletop, topiaries, pre-made arrangements, holiday lighting, outdoor décor, Christmas collectibles and novelties, packaging and trim, ribbon, oversized commercial décor and display props as well as permanent botanicals, foliage and trees.

Holiday & Home Expo features exhibits in the International Trade Plaza (formerly the International Floral & Gift Center), adjacent Christmas & Floral FINDS and Garden & Outdoor FINDS areas as well as additional showrooms in the adjoining World Trade Center and Trade Mart.

New, relocated and expanded showrooms for January 2011 include Portofino, 2F330. Relocated showrooms include Vickerman 2F111, GCA 2F115, Golden Bell 1F128 and Amazing Green 1F234. Gold Eagle will be located in 2F221 during the January show.

The Outdoor Living shared showroom will expand and relocate to the International Trade Plaza for January. The 31,000-square-foot showroom will present garden, patio and outdoor products that are complementary to the other showrooms in the International Trade Plaza.

Floral expert J M.H. Schwanke AIFD, PFCI, AAF will lead several Discovery Tours on the newest Christmas trees, showrooms with the best merchandising and displaying the latest trends and hot colors at 11 a.m. Thursday, Friday & Saturday. Talmage McLaurin, publisher of Florists’ Review magazine, will present “American Floral Trends for the Holidays” at noon Thursday, January 20 in the Seasons Gallery. Brad Schmidt AIFD, PFD will present “The Magical Season of Christmas” at 5 p.m. Thursday in the Seasons Gallery. Consumer behavior expert Robin Avni will speak on “Understanding the Female Consumer” at 5 p.m. Friday, January 21. Mary Liz Curtin will lead the “Retailer Idea Swap” at 5 p.m. Saturday, an interactive session where retailers solve problems and share successes.

Marketing expert John Moore will present the keynote address at noon Friday, “The Bigness of Smallness,” explaining how the smaller a business is, the bigger it must look, and conversely, the bigger a business is, the smaller it must get. His background includes a decade working deep inside the marketing departments of Starbucks Coffee and Whole Foods Market. Today he operates Brand Autopsy Marketing Practice, a consultancy helping businesses focus on marketing with authentic passion. He is the author of two business books, “Tribal Knowledge”, a business management book, and “Tough Love”, a business book masquerading as a screenplay.

Buyers will have a chance to win a car and cash prizes during January by visiting and shopping Holiday & Home Expo exhibitors. The drawing for the car will be Saturday, January 22. The Big Cash Giveaway drawing will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, January 20 to Sunday, January 23. To enter, buyers show a $500 purchase order from Holiday & Home Expo exhibitors. A party to celebrate the newly-named International Trade Plaza will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, January 20 in the front lobby.
