Denver Mart Announces return of Ken Williams as Director of Event Sales and Operations

The Denver Mart is proud to announce that Ken Williams, Jr. is returning as director of event sales and operations for the facility. Williams comes back to the Denver Mart after a successful turn as the director of tradeshow sales for The Broadmoor resort in Colorado Springs, Colo.

A graduate of the University of Colorado with a degree in economics, Williams brings more than 20 years of experience in the meetings industry to his position at the Denver Mart. He has held membership and leadership positions in several industry organizations including the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), Colorado Festivals and Events Association (CFEA), Colorado Society of Association Executives (CSAE) and Visit Denver.

Prior to joining The Broadmoor, Williams served as the director of marketing and sales for the Denver Mart for more than seven years. During that time, he was directly responsible for new business development as well as more than 150 annual events, totaling more than $2.7 million in revenue. Ken’s expertise in producing meetings and events stems from years working his way through the industry, beginning as a stagehand on the show floor, then as a service contractor handling logistics and finally as a facility manager matching space and services with client needs.

“We are thrilled to welcome Ken back home to the rejuvenated Mart, especially his enthusiasm, professionalism and hands-on experience in event sales and services,” said John Doyle, Denver Mart CEO/managing partner. He continued, “Ken was largely responsible for the consistent and accelerated growth in events held at the Mart during his previous tenure, and we look forward to the added success and expertise he brings with him.”

Ken and his wife, Kathleen have been married for nearly 20 years and have two children. They currently live in Larkspur, Colo.

Founded in 1965 as a wholesale trade center, the Denver Mart serves as an international and regional marketplace, housing permanent showrooms and holding shows for various industries, including gifts, resort, souvenirs, western apparel and equipment, jewelry, apparel and home furnishings. Today, the Mart is home to more than 350 showrooms and hosts more than 200 public and wholesale trade events each year.
