Dorfman Pacific Adds Greek Brand, Aegean International, Inc to Growing Roster of Exciting Fashion, Lifestyle and Active Headwear Brands

“In today’s business climate, we, as a dynamic company, cannot let the grass grow under our feet,” said DORFMAN PACIFIC President and CEO, Douglas Highsmith, as he announced his company’s recent acquisition of Aegean International, Inc., “Dorfman Pacific has prospered by focusing on and developing unparalleled expertise in the headwear industry. We know what today’s consumers really want and value—and we are expanding by both growth and acquisition wherever and whenever it makes sense. Aegean International, Inc, offers unique, impressive products and we look forward to maximizing its distribution and bringing the collection to more consumers. It is a perfect fit for us and we are happy to have it join our well-regarded portfolio of power brands.”

Since 1886, Greek Fisherman’s caps have been hand made in an ancient town outside Athens, Greece. For almost 30 years, Aegean International, Inc, has been supplying these special hats to customers in North America. There is a quality guarantee of the cap for its life and each one comes with a certificate of authenticity. The collection features versions in primarily cotton and wool and retails range about $25-$40. The hat is a favorite with professional seamen and any one who loves the water or appreciates its fashion functionality, will be equally as happy to own one.

As Todd Gardner, Senior VP of Merchandise & Marketing for Dorfman Pacific points out, “We have carried this line so we understand its potential and are thrilled to have acquired the brand. We will officially launch as its owner at the MAGIC Show in August and look forward to building the brand globally via our expansive marketing and sales networks. Dorfman Pacific instinctively understands Aegean’s place in the market and we confidently anticipate that it will go from strength to strength in the seasons and years to come.”
