Ferndale, MI – After eight years of success in downtown Ypsilanti, The Rocket candy and gift shop will open a new location in Ferndale.

Owner Eli Morrissey says the new 2,600-square-foot location on Woodward Avenue near the busy intersection with 9 Mile Road will be open sometime in mid-December and will use the same formula as the downtown Ypsilanti store.

“Business has been going pretty well. We’ve been downtown for eight years and business is growing, but not as much as it was the first few years when we were growing exponentially,” Morrissey said. “So we’re semi up- against a wall here because we have no more space and can’t expand our product assortment.”
