Eco-Friendly, Creative and Multi-Functional Products Debut

Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and co-organised by The Hong Kong Exporters’ Association, the world’s largest Hong KongGifts & Premium Fair proudly returns. With high recognition in international trade activities, this year’s fair will be running from 27 – 30 April 2014 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, with the expectation of more than 4,100 exhibitors from 36 countries and regions. Numerous exhibitors will showcase a wide range of products and reveal the latest trend of industry development. Among those exhibitors, Latvia and Luxembourg are the first-time participants of the show, in a bid to leverage on this global platform to explore business opportunities.

New Product Zones Cater to Market Needs

Hong Kong is an important world-renowned sourcing centre for giftware. A wide spectrum of gifts items can be sourced here, ranging from basic to sophisticated, high-valued merchandise. Various thematic zones have been providing an ideal platform for exhibitors and buyers over the years. Facing ever-changing market needs, three thematic zones are added this year to facilitate procurement efforts. These new product zones include Christmas Lighting, displaying a variety of glittering festive lighting and decorative items; Travel Souvenirs Piazzafeatures exclusive cultural souvenirs such as magnets, key chains and mugs while Avenue of Inspiration showcasing innovative and unique masterpieces from young and passionate designers.

The Hong Kong Exporters’ Association Pavilion

The Hong Kong Exporters’ Association Pavilion will be featuring more than 200 local companies with unique products. Isle of Originality aims to promote local creativity and thus enhancing the competitiveness of Hong Kong exporters. Design Village is a cradle for original designs and trend-setting gifts, and the latest winning entries of the Hong Kong Smart Gifts Design Awards will be firstly displayed in this fair. Under economic globalisation, The Hong Kong Exporters’ Association advocates the importance of corporate image and branding. The new zone of Brand Oasis thus arises to promote the superiority of Hong Kong and overseas brands. Individual brand stories will be highlighted at the zone and best brand presentation at booth will be awarded to enhance brand awareness.

Green and Creative Products Set the Trend

Hong Kong’s giftware exports are mainly targeted at the middle-to-high-end market, with competitive edges in product design and low production costs. To enhance competitiveness, local companies strive for instilling innovative ideas to bring uniqueness of products. As consumers are becoming more environmentally-conscious, demands for green products are rising. With a view to the market trend, Starlite Visual Communication Ltd will display an electric-free and eco-friendly paper smartphone speaker with distinctive appearance. The paper smartphone is available in a multitude colours.

Autumn Grain Creation Company Limited, a company keen on fostering environment conservation, will showcase different green gifts. Having its whole production line from design, manufacturing to packaging in Hong Kong, the company will display products, such as computer bags, made by recycled materials. Tailor-made designs are also available to cater for different customers’ preferences and styles.

A-Fontane Co Ltd, a renowned bedding brand in Hong Kong and the Greater China region, aims at enhancing innovation, quality and instilling green ideas into products. A multi-purposed cushion, which can be use individually as a neck cushion, lumbar pillow and cape or combine the two rolls of blanket into one full size comforter, will be displayed. It is easy to wash and fast drying as it is made of modern SILK™ Fabric, ProModal® wood fibre from Austria.

Buyer Target on Multi-Functional Products

Practical and multi-functional products are always in huge demand and targets of international buyers. Owing to the ever-growing popularity of smartphones, demands for peripheral products are increasing concurrently. Punchbox Limited makes good use of the opportunity and releases 2-in-1 hand warmer and external power bank with simple, sleek and handy design. Its small and swift switch between warmer and power function and beautiful light indication for power status by touch technology will be the highlights of the product.

Wireless bluetooth speaker by Eastcolight (Hong Kong) Limited will be the highlight of their products. The speaker is at the same time a high‐quality star projector featuring a complete sky map of the northern hemisphere star system. Precise data are provided by astronomical professionals, project real sky with twinkling stars.

Raising the quality of life, urban dwellers has been putting great importance on products’ functionality and aesthetics. Longwick Industries Limited adds creativity into accessory, bringing us a handy perfume keychain made of zinc alloy with crystal. Droplet-shaped bottle can be filled with perfume and it definitely will be the favourite product of ladies.

Ideal Platform for Effective Promotion

During the fair period, a number of seminars will also be held. A wide range of product demonstrations and promotional events in different manners and settings will allow industry players to grasp the market trends. There are also many networking opportunities to help connect suppliers with buyers to open up new overseas markets.

The concurrent 9th edition Hong Kong International Printing & Packaging Fair will take place at AsiaWorld-Expo, offering expanded sourcing opportunities for gift and premium buyers. A free shuttle bus service will run between HKCEC and AsiaWorld-Expo at regular intervals during the course of the two fairs.
