Events at Creativeworld Offer an Inspiring Mix for 2015

Creativeworld continues to grow in 2015. Many additional international exhibitors will showcase the broad palette of their products revolving around hobbies, handicrafts and artists’ requisites. In Halls 4.1 and 4.2, well-known brand manufacturers will alternate with new start-up companies, including both German and international exhibitors. “The multifarious, international mix of manufacturing companies is unique to Frankfurt, Germany. Together with the varied complementary program, it makes Creativeworld a comprehensive information and business platform for the entire sector,” says Michael Reichhold, Director of Creativeworld.

A particular highlight of the complementary program at Creativeworld are the Creativeworld Trends. They throw a whole new light on familiar handicraft ideas and combine materials to give a completely new look. Moreover, they bring together traditional handicraft skills and modern creative techniques, thus demonstrating how an entire world of craft ideas can develop in each instance from a single controlling idea.

The three trend scenarios that have been developed on behalf of Messe Frankfurt by Stilbüro bora.herke.palmisano go by the names of Artistic, Romantic and Optimistic. Each of these individual styles offers a plethora of inspiration for creative gifts, wrapping and packaging, furnishing ideas, jewelery, clothing, fashion and accessories for the home. They provide impetus for the colors, patterns, materials and techniques that will be hot favorites among handicraft enthusiasts in the coming season. As well as the presentation of trends in the special display area on stand G41 in Hall 4.2, there will also be a hands-on demonstration area, where the latest trends can be imitated and tried out. Retailers will thus get suggestions and ideas as to how they might implement the current trends and craft ideas in their own shops and present products in interesting new ways.

In the lecture area Creative Talks in Hall 4.2 F21, specialist speakers and experts will provide information about the hottest topics in the sector.

Additionally, the program will include discussion groups on the major issues of relevance to the creative sector. These cover, amongst other things, recycling, paper-relief work, masking tapes and cake design. In other lectures there will be tips for specialist retailers on useful supplementary product ranges to carry, and on the integration of DIY and handicraft products into the retail shop. And there will also be some important information regarding the development of the market in creative goods.

The coveted Creative Impulse Award – the top award for the hobby, creative and artistic sector – will be offered again in 2015. The panel of specialists will select their favorites, in advance, from amongst the submissions from industry. The award is offered in the following four categories: ‘Creative Product of the Year’, ‘Creative Tool of the Year’, ‘Complete Kit of the Year’ and ‘Creative Book of the Year’. The award ceremony will take place on the first day of the trade show at 12 noon in the ‘Creative Talks’ area (Hall 4.2 F21). All the products submitted and all the prize-winning entries will also be on display in a special, dedicated area in Hall 4.2 G45.

In the Creative Hands section, handicraft enthusiasts will display their own individual and creative work. In 2015 the search is on, with ‘Pillow Fight’, for the best pillow/cushion design. A specialist panel of adjudicators will assess the submissions in advance and will then announce the best designs at the award ceremony. This will be held in the Creative Talks area, at 11:00 a.m. on the Saturday of the show, January 31, 2015. The top 20 items chosen from amongst the pillows and cushions submitted will, moreover, be displayed on all the days of the show on Stand F30 in Hall 4.2. The curator of ‘Creative Hands’, Silke Bosbach, will be sewing pincushions alongside some of the visitors and will be available to offer tips on handicraft work in general.

The US Pavilion attracted a lot of visitors at the last Creativeworld and presented some fascinating trends from the USA. This success is set to continue in 2015. This year too, manufacturing companies from North America will be presenting their new products on a joint platform. Sharing this platform in the US Pavilion are members of the CHA and NAMTA associations, as well as a number of companies, who are exhibiting for the first time at a European trade show. Visitors to their stand will discover some fresh ideas and new products and will, at the same time, have the opportunity to make their initial contact with US manufacturing companies. The US Pavilion can be found in a central location in the main thoroughfare in Hall 4.2.

Trade-show trio offers additional value

The two trade shows, Paperworld and Christmasworld, which will be held in parallel, provide valuable synergies for Creativeworld buyers. Paperworld exhibits everything from gift wrapping paper and packaging, to greeting cards and calendars, as well as office supplies, writing and drawing implements. And a visit to Christmasworld is well worth the effort, if one is looking for seasonal or festive decorations, candles, fairy lights and flower arrangements. The three shows together provide an extensive package of inspirational ideas in one place, right at the start of the year.
