Shoppers have their favorite stores. They might sell unique earrings or barbecue grills, porcelain figurines or the latest shoes. The quality, variety and selection of goods, of course, are the heart of the draw.

But it’s the extras that truly make the impression.

It’s a shop where you’ve gone for years and still have things bought on your first few visits.

It’s a place where you find old-fashioned customer service, where you know the staff isn’t just reciting lines designed to cultivate clientele.

Sure, people love what’s trendy and new. And who wouldn’t stop in the latest boutique that opens with a bunch of fanfare?

But long after these ventures have come (and gone), other stores carry on.

They have adjusted to changing times, have become entrenched in their communities and have built a customer base that crosses generations.

Luckily, we have quite a few of these stores in our region.
