Go Green Expo announces line-up for Los Angeles kick-off event

(Los Angeles, CA) – GO GREEN EXPO, presented by Perf Go Green, the nation’s premiere eco-focused, interactive green-living showcase today announces a preview of Go Green Expo Los Angeles’ nearly 200 exhibitors and speakers participating in the inaugural LA event that launches the show’s four city tour.

From January 23-25, 2009 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, GO GREEN EXPO Los Angeles will feature the latest in energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly products and services, interactive seminars and speeches on the growing green revolution. Among the eco-star’s appearing at the Los Angeles launch event, Ed Begley Jr., renowned actor and a leader in the environmental community, will speak to event attendees on opening day, in a presentation sponsored by LifeSource Water Systems.

Begley joins a line-up of noteworthy speakers including best-selling author Julie Edelman, The Accidental Housewife, Greg Wendt of the Green Business Network, Ralph Avallone of The Green Energy Council and Rob Holmes of the Green Living Project.

Additionally, the lineup of Go Green Expo partners includes influential organizations such as Los Angeles’ Sierra Club, The Malibu Foundation, People for the Parks, Earth Day Los Angeles, The Green Energy Council, Brighter Planet and many others. Los Angeles’ KNBC and The Los Angeles Times, have both signed on as lead media partners for the inaugural event while PLENTY magazine, LA City Beat, Form Magazine, Green Lifestyles magazine and BoHo magazine are among the top eco-minded media taking part in the event to help communicate the importance of thinking and living sustainably to the people of Los Angeles.

Bringing together people of all shades of green, GO GREEN EXPO was created as a forum for increasing awareness of energy and environmental challenges, showcasing green products and services and educating the public and corporate world on the many innovative ways to go and be green. Attendees can sample the latest in organic fashions from Positively Earth, dress their baby in the latest eco-chic from Happy Green Bee, learn how to recycle their e-waste with Ewaste Center and find out how to green their homes with Green Planet Building. From the savviest environmentalist to the newly green, Expo attendees will have the opportunity to explore a variety of special interest areas including: Business / Electronics, Energy / Conservation/ Recycling, Food / Beverage, Health / Beauty / Fashion, Home / Building, Kid Zone, MarketPlace, Non Profits.

The three day event at the Los Angeles Convention Center, the first convention center in the United States of its size and the first city building in Los Angeles to become LEED-certified, Go Green Expo will use solar power to generate electricity on the show floor, calculate the carbon output and offset the emissions, and use recycled and recyclable materials throughout the show floor. Brighter Planet will work with the Go Green Expo to calculate the event’s electricity usage, on-site fuel use, staff travel, event vehicles, waste disposal and attendee travel, and then offset their carbon emissions for a completely carbon neutral show. For each of its shows nationwide, Go Green Expo will use 100% biodegradable trash bags provided by its title sponsor, Perf Go Green, in an effort to ensure the waste that does go in the trash bin will eventually biodegrade in the landfills.

The Go Green Expo National Tour will also boast the latest in green design and function, supported by Metropolitan Exposition Services, such as: recycled flooring, 100% compostable and biodegradable table top coverings, recycled material booth ID signs, biodegradable banner material, soy and water based inks and a waste management program that takeand social ramifications into account by utilizing local donation programs.
