Gourmet Resources Return to Winter 2012 NYIGF

Following the well-received summer 2011 debut of theGourmet Housewares Show® at the New York International Gift Fair® (NYIGF®), the Fair’sTabletop & Housewares division will be redefined to showcase a concentration of gourmet housewares companies at the winter 2012 market.

Major brands, including Aladdin, Joseph Joseph, Mastrad and Oggi, which participated in the inaugural Gourmet Housewares Show at NYIGF in summer 2011, have committed to exhibit in the winter 2012 NYIGF in order to gain continued exposure to gift and home buyers.

“These returning companies realize the benefits of participating in NYIGF, and the value of expanding their reach into gift and home channels,” said Dorothy Belshaw, NYIGF director and GLM senior vice president. “Buyers needing both summer and winter markets to shop and source new gourmet resources also benefit.”

“Most of our key accounts will be attending NYIGF, and we look forward to seeing them as well as finding new retail partners and marketing channels,” said Richard Murphy, director of sales and marketing at the OGGI Corporation. “NYIGF’s Tabletop & Housewares division gives us an early opportunity to get a ‘feel’ for our product assortment line-up, receive important buyer feedback for the seasons ahead, and work towards finalizing future special projects and programs.”

These returning housewares vendors will coalesce with current Tabletop & Housewaresexhibitors — including Arte Italica, Juliska, Lunares, Kim Seybert, Mariposa, TAG-Trade Associates Group, Vagabond House and Vietri – resulting in a comprehensive, buyer-friendly collection of some 100 gourmet resources within the division. Additional design-forward housewares suppliers – such as Alessi, ASA Selection, Blomus, Chilewich, Creative Danes/ MENU, Eva Solo, MYdrap, Royal VKB, Stelton and UMBRA – also will return to neighboring Accent on Design, further extending the high-end, specialty housewares resources presented in the New York market.

NYIGF’s Tabletop & Housewares division also will welcome the addition of several companies relocating from NYIGF’s General Gift division. These exhibit floor moves by Andrea by Sadek, Claude Dozorme Cutlery and Tissage Moutet will create groupings of dynamic industry leaders, as well as shopping efficiencies for buyers. Other changes within Tabletop & Housewares include the return after a hiatus of Intrada, Paper Products Design, Lush Life and Mottahedeh and Company. At the same time, several currentTabletop & Housewares exhibitors will be expanding their space for the winter 2012 market. Expansions include: Abbiamo Tutto, Bodrum, Europe 2 You, Knobstoppers, Mariposa, Michael Aram and Prouna USA/Kiyasa Co.

This winter, Tabletop & Housewares will feature a new show floor location and layout to accommodate construction in the 3A and 3B Halls of the Javits Center. The new space brings the entire division together in one cohesive area, with Aladdin, Joseph Joseph, Juliska, Michael Aram, Mottahedeh & Company and Vietri positioned at the entry, and Bodrum, Frances Stoia, Kim Seybert, Lunares, Mariposa, Reed & Barton and Vagabond House in key anchor locations.

The Tabletop & Housewares division will include some 300 exhibitors in total offering high-end resources in cookware, bakeware, kitchen gadgets, kitchen textiles, bar and wine accessories, small electrics, specialty food, cookbooks, storage/containers, picnic/barbecue accessories, tabletop and specialty food. Tabletop & Housewares runs Sunday, January 29, through Thursday, February 2, 2012, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
