Home Grown Books Launches New Series of Books Aimed at the Earliest Readers
Home Grown Books, an artistic and educational collaborative dedicated to creating a whole literacy experience for the earliest readers, announces the launch of a new line of children’s books. The inaugural sets of books are illustrated by artists Cecile Dyer and Nathalie Trovato and will premiere at the New York International Gift Fair, August 19-22, 2012. All Home Grown Books products are made in America and Rolling Press, an eco-friendly printing company based in Brooklyn, prints the books.
Kyla Ryman, an early reading specialist and advocate of whole language and content-rich learning, and Sarah Rogenes, a curator and co-founder of a homeschool collective in Brooklyn, created the Home Grown Books concept in 2009. Both are mothers and members of the art world who are dedicated to creating content that is visually stimulating and respects the intelligence of early learners. This inaugural series reflects Home Grown Books’ mission to produce sophisticated educational materials available to the earliest reader.
Along with the books, Home Grown Books will sell products that incorporate the images and stories of their various book series. A set of limited edition blocks milled in Vermont and made from sustainable maple hardwood printed with the images by Cecile Dyer will be available in limited edition. A series of fine art prints selected from both Cecile Dyer and Nathalie Trovato’s work will also be available in limited edition.
