Norman, OK – The Elvis is a Granny Smith apple coated in dark chocolate, banana chips and bacon bits. The Thunder Upple comes decorated in the pro basketball team’s orange and blue. If you want something much simpler, like a classic caramel apple, Apple Tree Chocolates has that, too.
Husband and wife business owners Ashley and Scotty Jackson began this brand of unconventional confections after trying their hand at making a caramel apple.
They were visiting Ashley’s family, who owns a few candy shops in Louisiana, Alabama and Texas. And while realizing caramel was difficult to make — one wrong move can ruin an entire batch — they found it was something they enjoyed doing.
