Cheryl Lynn Ingberg’s jewelry and apparel are making a splash around lakes country.

The Fargo native opened a shop seven miles outside of Vergas last year (located at the Crystal-Lida Resort on County Highway 4).

“I was driving through the area on my way to Fargo when I saw the place,” she recalled. “I peeked inside and noticed it was being used as a storage building.”

Seeing potential, she contacted the owners and quickly struck a deal to open a gift shop that would feature handcrafted jewelry and apparel.

“I love the freedom of owning my own business,” she said. “It runs in our family.”

Her sister, Julie Ingberg, had owned a gift shop in Vergas.

The shop also allows a venue to sell her handcrafted merchandise, something she’s been perfecting since childhood.

“I was really interested in jewelry at a young age,” she said. “Particularly antique jewelry. I’d go to secondhand stores and flea markets to find different pieces.”
