JHS grad starts unique gift delivery company
Jacksonville, TX — A Jacksonville High School graduate is up to some monkey business.
The brainchild of Eric and Erin Peacock of Denver, Colo., Mail-a-Monkey is a venture begun just 6 to 8 weeks ago that has spread like wild fire.
The company offers stuffed animals in an assortment of styles, for those wishing to send a unique gift.
Eric Peacock said when he and his wife developed the idea, they were discussing the “unfunny” ads shown on this year’s Super Bowl telecast, recalling how previous shows had featured “can’t-miss ads and monkey hijinks”.
Recalling the moment on his Web site, www.mailamonkey.com, Peacock reflected, “We both said, ‘Everybody loves monkeys,'” and the idea was born.
The products are a great alternative to the “cliché” gift of flowers. Peacock said they don’t die and are cheaper than flowers.
The monkeys and all the other animals are shipped in clear tubes, peering out at the purchaser.
