JPMA Wins Two Awards at the 44th Annual Pepperpot & Achievement Awards

The Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA) received top honors at the 44th Annual Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Philadelphia chapter’s Pepperpot & Achievement Awards.

JPMA received first place awards in both the Marketing Communications and Public Service Announcement categories for its baby monitor safety campaign and PSA. JPMA was recognized for its ongoing information and education campaign that has yielded increased awareness of baby monitor usage guidelines, widespread news coverage and new partners for the association.

Recognizing the strangulation hazard associated with misuse of baby monitors, JPMA and the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced an ongoing information and education campaign to address the misuse of items with electric line cords, with an emphasis on baby monitors.

Judges received hundreds of entries in 31 categories and evaluated entries based on program objectives; execution/tactics and evaluation/results. Each entry included a two page summary and binder with extensive background material highlighting the creativity and innovation of the campaign.

The Pepperpots, named for George Washington’s famous Pepperpot soup, recognizes the best-in-class public relations campaigns and tactics from the Philadelphia region. Public relations executives from all over the region attended the awards ceremony to recognize the award-winning campaigns.

“We are proud of our members’ contributions to this successful campaign,” said Michael Dwyer, CAE Executive Director of JPMA. “Their support, accompanied by the creativity of the public relations staff, are two important ingredients in our recipe for awareness success.”

About the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association
The Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA) is a national trade organization of more than 250 companies in the United States, Canada and Mexico. JPMA exists to advance the interests, growth and well-being of North American prenatal to preschool product manufacturers, importers and distributors marketing under their own brands to consumers. It does so through advocacy, public relations, information sharing, product performance certification and business development assistance conducted with appreciation for the needs of parents, children and retailers.

Each year, JPMA sponsors Baby Safety Month in September to educate parents and caregivers on the importance of the safe use and selection of juvenile products.
