Kenny’s Old Fashioned Candies Brings Back Original Candy Box SpiritBy Sarah HardingHSJ.org

Cantonsville, MD – Back in the good ol’ days, the Candy Box, located on Frederick Road across from Seminole Avenue, was a popular place to stop in and get some penny candy, or Bottle Caps, or chocolate—really any kind of candy you can imagine. Then the owners left Catonsville for a few years and sold the shop, leaving the Candy Box name with the new owners. Now the owners have returned and opened a new candy store, just not with its same name or location. Of course, the Candy Box is still around, but it’s no where near as great as Kenny’s Old Fashioned Candies recently opened in downtown Catonsville.

he new space is decorated perfectly with hard candies and gummies in the front, and chocolates in the back room. Everything about the shop is antique-like, and most would describe it simply as “adorable!”

Senior Grace Hochheimer bought her mom candy from the candy shop this past Valentine’s Day, but she couldn’t not purchase some for her own consumption.
