Lang Donates to Breast Cancer Research
Waukesha, WI – Perfect Timing, parent company of the LANG, Avalanche and Turner Licensing brands, announced 2009 donations to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation and American Forests.
LANG, best known in the industry for their hand painted calendars, stationery, and kitchen gifts, donated over $6,000 to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation last month. The donation was made on behalf of the artist royalties from the sales of the 2010 LANG Celebrate Today Die-cut Wall Calendar. The calendar features artwork by eleven of LANG’s top artists and has a die-cut pink ribbon visible on every month. Susan Winget, Karen H. Good and Lori Siebert are among the artists that donated a painting to the calendar.
LANG continues their support of breast cancer research and awareness programs with a 2011 Celebrate Today calendar as well as the new Strength stationery collection which was introduced at the Atlanta Gift Show in July. Strength features paintings by Susan Winget with a floral and pink ribbon aesthetic. The artwork will be showcased on many of LANG’s top-selling products including an address book and journal. Retailers can purchase an assortment of products for display in October to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The 2012 Celebrate Today calendar will be introduced in January and includes the addition of several artists including Lowell Herrero, Mary Lake-Thompson and Jane Shasky.
Perfect Timing’s Avalanche brand also paid nearly $1,500 to American Forests in support of their Global ReLeaf program. The purpose of Global ReLeaf is to restore forests and their life-giving ecosystems by planting 100 million trees by the year 2020. The funds resulted from the sales of Avalanche’s Plant-a-Tree calendars, which are made from environmentally friendly materials and are 100% recyclable.
Perfect Timing remains conscious of the company’s responsibilities to the environment, and mitigates the environmental impact of their manufacturing and sales through thoughtful and considerate design and processes. New this year, every LANG Wall Calendar includes two free, full-color bookmarks for the consumer. The bookmarks are produced using scraps from the manufacturing of the renowned calendar jackets.
Proceeds from 2011 Celebrate Today and Plant-a-Tree calendars, along with the new Strength stationery collection, will continue to be donated to their respective causes.
