Las Vegas Market expansion matches growing gift+home category

{Sponsored} Discover the extraordinary at the Winter 2018 Las Vegas Market, Jan. 28-Feb. 1, 2018. With a dynamic expansion debuting this winter, the Market will feature new temporary exhibition space filling three Pavilions with some 500-plus gift and home décor exhibitors. The nation’s fastest growing gift and home décor market will showcase products in seven categories — including two new categories and segmentation of an existing category — allowing buyers to more efficiently source and shop the Market’s ever-growing temporary resources.

The Market’s signature FIRST LOOK trend display and seminar will offer directional trend insights through four central themes: Romantics & Realists, Easy Now: Housewares & Dining, Year of the Dog and Storytellers. The hues of top color picks for 2018 recall the palettes of both Romantic and Realist painters. Easy Now: Housewares & Dining features brunch-friendly, time-saving housewares and more. Year of the Dog celebrates loyal four-legged companions in a playful vignette that crosses all Las Vegas Market product categories. Storytellers is this season’s nod to handmade, fair-trade and certified home and gift products.

In addition, a full slate of educational sessions will address color trends, retailing strategies and more, and designer-led tours of exhibit floors and top showrooms will showcase top-trending products. Las Vegas Market also hosts a full slate of buyer amenities to enhance the overall shopping experience, such as fully-equipped Internet lounges, grab-and-go breakfasts, mother’s lounges and more.

Las Vegas Market offers many hotel options for Market-goers, from budget-friendly to luxury, and gaming or non-gaming. Las Vegas Market’s 27 hotel options feature rates ranging from $31 to $219 per night, including 12 hotels with rates of $100 or less per night. Connections Housing, Las Vegas Market’s official housing partner, offers Market-goers best rates and assistance with shuttle planning, as well as a chance to win show tickets, room upgrades, free stays and more through the Market’s popular “Book the Block” hotel promotion. Here’s what exhibitors are looking forward to at the Winter 2018 Las Vegas Market.

Lori Lieske
Marketing Manager,
Solmate Socks

“The Las Vegas Market has become the West Coast show. Because the Market takes place earlier in the season as far as when tradeshows take off, buyers almost get a sneak peek of new products before New York or other shows.

“Las Vegas Market owns the property so that helps the show overall. The Las Vegas Market staff are always super helpful as far as being on top of deadlines, dates and reminders.

“Made in America is really big in the gift+home category. It will be really fascinating to see Las Vegas Market further develop an artisan feel. That’s a niche, and I think that buyers seek that out. They want something unique. It’s nice to have the handmade and Made in America categories at Las Vegas Market — especially on the West Coast for buyers that can’t travel to the East Coast.”

Jason McCarthy,
Director, Wholesale Team,
The Grommet

“We reach a whole new segment of buyers at Las Vegas market that we don’t see at other shows. That’s the main reason we go; you reach a lot of the West Coast and Southwest people. There’s a lot more exhibitors at Las Vegas Market. It’s had to expand space into the other pavilions. Every year there’s more and more people and more exhibitors, and new things you don’t see in other places. Some gift stores may have a limited budget so they’ll go to one — maybe two — shows, so a lot of people select Las Vegas as that one show they attend.

“Las Vegas Market is one of the most affordable shows to attend. There’s always easy flights to get in and the hotels are usually pretty cheap.”
