Las Vegas Market kicks off week of sourcing opportunities

Las Vegas Market features expanded and reimagined furniture, décor and gift resources and more than 40 events at its Jan. 29-Feb. 2 staging at World Market Center Las Vegas, according to International Market Centers (IMC).

“A reenergized and enthusiastic buying and selling community is set to convene in Las Vegas,” said Bob Maricich, CEO of IMC. “Expanded, trend-driven resources at Las Vegas Market combined with the opportunity to explore innovations in design and construction products at these concurrent major shows offers an opportunity like nowhere else this winter.”

New brands

Strategic updates in showroom and temporary exhibit presentations are bringing new resources, encouraging brand expansions and improving the shopability of World Market Center Las Vegas, IMC says.

Las Vegas Market features 53 new, expanded and relocated showrooms among its 600-plus brand and sales agency showrooms representing thousands of lines to source across 37 floors in Buildings A, B and C.

In furniture and décor, reorganization of Building A and growth in bedding resources strengthen Las Vegas Market’s brand offerings with 47 updates across nearly 450 showrooms on 30 floors Buildings A, B and C, according to IMC.

The Building A restack has resulted in 16 new, expanded and relocated brands, including luxury home furnishings brand Theodore Alexander, which debuts in winter 2023 as an anchor tenant in the open daily Las Vegas Design Center.

Adding to the previously announced Building A updates is a relocation for Sunny Designs. Sixteen more updates to the furniture and home décor offerings on 23 floors in Buildings B and C include accessories, antiques, furniture, textiles, wall art and service providers. Adding to the previously announced growth are four new showrooms: Eureka Ergonomic (ergonomic furniture for gaming, living and working), Meissenburg Designs (vintage wood and metal signage and accessories), Nativa Interiors (high-end furniture) and Rizzy Home (rugs, bedding, linens, pillows, throws and more).

Bedding updates

Las Vegas Market is highlighted by the return of Serta-Simmons, leading 15 updates in winter 2023. Two more bedding updates include a new showroom for Boyd Sleep (specialty sleep products and platform beds) and expansion for DeLandis (Deluxe Home mattresses). These brands join Casper, Corsicana Mattress Company, Malouf, MLILY, Purple, Stearns & Foster, Tempur Sealy International, Tempur-Pedic and many more among nearly 100 mattress and bedding resources on 10 floors in Buildings A, B and C.

Giftware

In Las Vegas Market’s gift offerings, the 11th floor of World Market Center Las Vegas’ Building C becomes a destination for the gift industry with the opening of a new showroom for celebrated Los Angeles-based sales agency Stephen Young, which represents 60 gift, décor, publishing and lifestyle brands. Five additional updates bring more handcraft gifts and décor, seasonal, outdoor living and packaging resources to nearly 200 showrooms offering product across the gift spectrum on seven floors in Building C.

Augmenting Las Vegas Market’s refreshed showroom offerings is the largest temporary exhibit offerings since the Gift and Home temporary exhibits relocated to the Expo at World Market Center Las Vegas in 2021.

More than 300 exhibitors — including 50-plus new exhibitors — are showcased in six categories: Gift, Home, Design, Handmade, Luxe and Immediate Delivery. Adding to the temporary offerings are the furniture temporary exhibits on B2 with nearly 70 brands presenting casegoods, casual furniture, dining tables, sofas, chairs, recliners, rustic furniture, traditional wood furniture, office furniture, occasional tables and home décor.

Market programs

More than 40 events staged over five days aim to allow market attendees to expand their business knowledge, network and celebrate the industry. Educational programming — exploring trends, business strategies and more in 11 CEU-eligible courses — features new offerings by the Interior Design Society (IDS), adding to hallmark sessions including the proprietary FIRST LOOK trend forecast and interactive tours. Additionally, industry organizations the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), Business of Design and the Home Furnishings Association (HFA) will present education.

Opportunities for the industry to come together again are offered throughout Las Vegas Market. Las Vegas Market offers Grab & Go Breakfast in the Courtyard, happy hours and entertainment take place in the Expo and in Buildings A, B, & C throughout the week.

At-market interactive elements expand with a new Market Beauty Bar offering hair and makeup freshening in the Building B lobby. Other notable locations are the FIRST LOOK product display in the Expo Pre-Function space, the Market Snapshot display in the Building C lobby and photo-ops in the Expo lobby and the Building A lobby.

As part of extended industry association programming, seven buying groups — American Specialty Toy Retailing Association (ASTRA), Fair Trade Federation, GC Buying Group, Museum Store Association (MSA), North American Farmers Direct Marketing Association (NAFDMA), Spa Industry Association and Zoo, Aquarium & Garden Buyers Group (ZAG) — will host a “Sip and Shop” in the temporary exhibits to introduce retailers to brand members as well as member meetings and gatherings.

Gift For Life fundraising

Gift for Life, the gift and home industries’ charity, begins 2023 fundraising at the Winter Las Vegas Market. Exhibitors are raising money in a variety of ways, including donations of a portion of at-Market sales, pledging $1 per order or flat-fee contributions to support World Central Kitchen’s (WCK) crisis-related hunger relief around the globe.

IMC pledged $2,500 toward Gift for Life’s $20,000 fundraising goal.

Planning tools

Multichannel planning tools are designed to help buyers find the right products for their businesses. The Las Vegas Market website offers an exhibitor directory, travel information — including information about shuttle service from 27 hotels and Harry Reid International Airport — an events guide and digital version of the nearly-200-page Las Vegas Market Preview, Market Resource Guide and EXPLORE: The Gift & Home Temporaries Magazine.

Representatives from four retail and design organizations serve as the Winter 2023 Market Pros, showcasing favorite finds and market moments on the Las Vegas Market and Las Vegas Design Center’s social media accounts. The Las Vegas Market App allows buyers to browse and navigate to exhibitors, find amenities, plan their visit and get inspired with social media.
