Ankeny, IA – The Kirschbaum family started Strawberry Patch in 1980 as a quaint store specializing in gifts, wicker furniture and kitchen items. The store gradually added Iowa State and University of Iowa novelty items, then T-shirts of all types. It eventually evolved into a T-shirt shop complete with its own line.

“The move from novelties to apparel came from a need within the community for custom T-shirts. We started producing our own T-shirts, too, so we could get them to our customers quicker while retaining control over our inventory,” said Jeff Kirschbaum, whose parents started the business.

From sweatshirts to jackets, Strawberry Patch carries local high school team apparel and state collegiate favorites.
