Midwest Introduces World’s Largest Sock Monkey During Winter Market

A larger-than-life, eight-foot replica of the company’s best-selling Genuine Monkeez™ sock monkeys, Super Sammy will be on display in Midwest’s AmericasMart showroom, located in Building One/Merchandise Mart, Suite 16A7, during the January market running January 6 through 14, 2009.
Super Sammy will also be the star of the company’s Go Bananas event on Friday, January 9, 2009, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Midwest showroom. Independent retailers are invited to attend the Go Bananas event to meet and have their photo taken with Super Sammy, receive complementary Genuine Monkeez gifts, and receive free freight on all Genuine Monkeez orders of $500 or more with immediate shipping. Super Sammy will also be on display in Midwest showrooms during the Dallas, New York and Las Vegas winter gift and home décor markets, as well as the New York Trim and Toy Show in February 2009.
Made of acrylic yarn just like his smaller Genuine Monkeez counterparts, Super Sammy measures eight feet from head to toe and weighs in at 73 pounds. His head alone measures 64 inches in circumference, and Super Sammy boasts a 57-inch waist and a 38-inch long tail. Super Sammy took more than one month to make by a specialist in life-size fabric creations.
