Norwood, PA – At the corner of Winona Avenue and Chester Pike in Norwood stands a testament to the staying power of adaptability, loyalty and what Deborah Davis likes to call “the personal touch.”

Davis Trading Post has been a staple of the community since Deborah’s grandfather, H. Tracy Davis, first opened his pharmacy at 8 W. Winona Ave. in 1934, directly across the street from the store’s current location.

Though Tracy Davis and his pharmacy are now long gone — he died in 1949 and a fire gutted the old building in 1957 — the Davis Trading Post has remained a family affair.

Following the fire, Davis’ son, David Wilmot “Mint” Davis, moved the operation to 3 W. Winona Ave. His wife, Betty, renamed the store Davis Trading Post to reflect the American Indian heritage of the area.
