Momentum Continues for Expansion of Better Home Decor at Las Vegas Market

Better home décor continues its upward trajectory at the Las Vegas Market with seven leading vendors announcing their intentions to open or expand showrooms, and six upscale resources joining the c-ONE showcase of temporary exhibitors for the upcoming Winter 2014 Las Vegas Market, running January 26-30, 2014.

“Our ongoing development of Las Vegas Market as the leading home furnishings and gift destination in the western United States is drawing strong support among industry-leading vendors,” pointed out Dorothy Belshaw, president of Gift & Home Décor, International Market Centers. “The strategic realignment and growth of home décor resources in the Las Vegas Market is generating extraordinary early interest in new showroom leasing and expansions, as well as temporary exhibit space, for the forthcoming January market.”

Key vendors announcing expanded participation or returns to Winter Market following a hiatus include Chandra, a supplier of floor coverings, rugs, decorative accessories and contemporary furniture, which is expanding its showroom by 110% and moving to a nearly 9,000-square-foot space on B3; and Interlude Home, a premier design house and importer of accessories, furniture, lighting and art, which is returning to Las Vegas Market following a three-year hiatus with a 4,337-square-foot showroom on B3.

Other better home décor suppliers who have confirmed their showroom participation for Las Vegas Market in January 2014 include Gabby, a provider of fine furniture including dining and occasional tables, chairs, mirrors and décor, which is leasing a 4,000-square-feet space on B3; Glassisimo, offering one-of-a-kind furniture and home décor in a 1,679-square-foot space on C4; Jamie Young Company, offering eclectic lighting and home décor accessories in a 1,563-square-foot showroom on C4; area rug manufacturer Kaleen Rugs, which is opening a 3,700-square-foot space on C4; and Wildcat Territory, a supplier of fine fabrics and custom bedding, draperies, rugs and accessories, opening a 900-square-foot showroom on C1.

New tenants said they expect positive sales results from exhibiting at the Winter Market “Las Vegas is the next natural progression in our planned growth strategy,” said Jamie Young Jeter of Jamie Young Company. “For close to two decades, we have been the industry leader in the design of high-end lighting, mirrors, furniture and accessories. We believe that Las Vegas will help us to achieve our future growth strategy through expansion of our international presence and our West Coast distribution.”

Six leading suppliers of better home décor also have confirmed their participation in temporary exhibition space in the upscale c-ONE cross-category presentation for Winter 2014. Newcomers including Brodarick Design, a supplier of architecturally inspired glass foosball tables and pool tables and unique furniture pieces, all manufactured in Italy; FermobUSA, a supplier of fine French bistro and outdoor lounge furniture; Phylum Designs, a producer of wall art and home accents ; SkLO, presenting a modern expression of hand blown Czech Bohemian crystal; Trowbridge Gallery, a provider of high-quality art photographs, prints, textiles and antiques in hand-made frames; and Wrapped, a design studio specializing in art created from fine wrapping paper.

The 2013 Las Vegas Summer Market registered year-over-year gift and home decor attendance growth of 73%; attendance figures were bolstered by the more than 50 new gift and home décor showrooms and an estimated 1,150 new lines that debuted in the revamped World Market Center’s Building C. “The Las Vegas Market’s continuing expansion of home décor showrooms in Building B and the dramatic transformation of Building C are key elements fueling a surge in both showroom leasing activity and market attendances” added Belshaw. “Attendees at the Winter 2014 Las Vegas Market will find a sold-out powerhouse presentation of better home décor brands on floor B3, an expanded and invigorated collection of better home décor showrooms on floors C3 and C4 and a synergistic collection of home-related temporary exhibitors on C5.”
