Glen Carbon, IL – When Cindy Kenney opened My Treasure House on Main Street in Edwardsville about three-and-a-half years ago, she was leaving behind a full time paycheck to pursue something she loved to do. But it didn’t take long for the new business venture to take off, and soon it was busting at the seams.

My Treasure House, featuring a co-op of local artisans specializing in redesigned furniture and home decor, relocated to a much larger location at 4230 Rt. 159 in Glen Carbon earlier this month.

Kenney’s story begins in Troy where she ran Kenney’s Home Furnishings for about five years before being approached by a company to come work for them full-time. “I left the business and went to work for this company in marketing,” Kenney recalled. “It was a great opportunity, but I was miserable because it wasn’t what I loved. I decided I can’t do this. I need to do what I love. Everything just clicked, and we opened in Edwardsville three-and-a-half years ago.”
