Store mixes relaxation, retailBy Tracy FrankInForum.com

LeAnn Ebersviller spent years in the corporate world, suffering much of that time from tension headaches.

Massage offered her some relief, but the cost and time involved prevented her from having massages as often as she needed them.

Then she found quick, cost-effective healing in aqua massage and decided to open a business to share the remedy with others.

“This is just a great alternative,” Ebersviller said. “My muscles stay loose with the more consistent massages, and I don’t get the headaches anymore.”

Ebersviller opened Aquablue at 4955 17th Ave. S. in Fargo, just west of Home Depot, in April 2008. The shop has two private aqua massage beds. It also offers an array of products to promote relaxation, such as soaps, lotions and candles.

From the blond wood floors and aqua walls reminiscent of a day at the beach, to the calm music playing in the background, Ebersviller wants to give customers a relaxing shopping experience.

“A lot of people say that when they’re in here that it’s so relaxing,” she said.

She carries jewelry and gifts with inspirational messages. She also sells fun items such as Mad Libs word-game books.

The bath section includes products for men such as beer soap, and bath toys and soaps for children.

Ebersviller tries all the products before selling them. Many are handmade and most are made in the United States, she said.
