Norfolk Zoo’s Gift Shop Offers Flip-Flop Art at Sneak Peek
Norfolk, VA – It may have been dark and stormy outside but inside a classroom at the Virginia Zoo, it was bright and colorful as members of the community happily purveyed the goods of a new line of eco-friendly products now available in the zoo’s gift shop.
The products being presented and sold are from a line of items by Ocean Sole and are made from recycled flip-flops that washed up along the Kenyan coastline.
Fifty-four people showed up for the sneak preview of the line’s colorful and artistic items. The event was open to the public but by RSVP only. People with an expressed interest in art, zoo members, donors and art collectors, were reached out to for the event.
