North Platte, NE – On a recent hot summer afternoon, business was brisk at Fort Cody Trading Post.

License plates on cars parked in the lot showed visitors from Michigan, Colorado, Washington and eastern Nebraska.

For owner Chuck Henline, every day is an adventure.

“I wear a lot of hats,” he said. “I order merchandise, I wait on customers, I fix stopped up toilets.”
