Noted: The Greeting Card Expo debuts May 18

The greeting card industry is buzzing with excitement for Noted: The Greeting Card Expo happening May 18 through May 20, 2019 at the Brooklyn Expo Center and hosted by the Greeting Card Association (GCA).

Noted is debuting in 2019 in Brooklyn as a first-of-its-kind event with the goal of bringing together the greeting card community and giving attendees a chance to connect with one another, discover new products, and celebrate the diversity of greeting cards and the people behind them. Noted is organized and led by volunteer members of the GCA, which will also host the prestigious LOUIE Awards celebration, honoring the best cards in the industry from the previous year, during the event.

“Noted is an experience that is all about making meaningful, lasting connections between buyer and seller. And an experience that, frankly, is very much like the sending and receiving of cards,” says Peter Doherty, GCA executive director.

Among the many exhibits on display at Noted, attendees will also have the opportunity to learn more about the GCA’s Thinking of You Week campaign. Thinking of You Week is an international movement that encourages sending a card a day for one week from September 23 through 29, 2019. The event celebrates the energy and creativity of paper lovers everywhere – with the support of greeting card publishers, crafters, card and gift retailers, and the US Postal Service (who created a Thinking of You postmark for first class letters that reached over a half million homes in September of 2018).

The winner of the 2019 Thinking of You Week design contest is Elizabeth Silver, a freelance artist and surface pattern designer from Apex, North Carolina. A former print stylist for GAP, Inc., Elizabeth is a designer of stationery, home textiles, apparel prints, plus graphics and licensed artwork for gifts and greeting cards.
