NRF forecasts record holiday retail sales in 2022

The National Retail Federation (NRF) is forecasting record holiday sales this year, with 46% of consumers saying they’ve already began shopping due to concerns about inflation and getting the best deals.

Additionally, about 25% plan to shop at a local business, NRF reports, and 60.4 million U.S. consumers plan to shop the Saturday after Thanksgiving on Small Business Saturday.

An estimated 90% of all U.S. retail companies employs 100 or fewer people. NRF spoke with six small business advocates to see what consumer behavior they expect this holiday season, the categories consumers will be shopping and more.

Whether you shop online or in store, NRF encourages all consumers to support their local small businesses on Small Business Saturday on November 26.
