NYIGF’s At Home Showcases New Home Decor Resources

New resources in furniture, accessories, bedding and other home décor products will be introduced at the sold out winter 2013 edition of At Home at the New York International Gift Fair® (NYIGF®), January 26-30, 2013, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and Passenger Ship Terminal Pier 94. With a complete range of hard lines and soft goods, At Home is one of the largest and most diverse selections of trend-focused home resources in the country.

“With 550 home goods suppliers, At Home offers an incomparable collection of resources,” said Danielle Giacoponello, At Home sales manager. “This January’s influx of new participants brings fresh, innovative products to the New York market.”

At Home’s hard lines are consolidated at Pier 94, with a concentration of 350 companies. Exhibitors new to this location include Beverly Furniture (furniture); CDI Furniture (furniture); Fresh American (pillows); John Robshaw Furniture Collection by Cisco Brothers (furniture), Katherine Barnwell (decorative accessories); Sh ine Creations (furniture); and The Tailored Nest (textiles). Additionally, several suppliers are returning to At Home at Pier 94 this winter after a hiatus from the New York Market: Archival Décor (pillows); Beach Frames (wall décor); Chaba Décor (wall décor), Clapper Hallow (wall art); Cisco Brothers (furniture); Fermob USA (outdoor furniture); Fortunata (decorative tabletop) Kingsley-Bate (outdoor furniture), and Orlandi (garden décor and statuaries).

Sixteen companies are expanding their space on Pier 94: A & B Home(furniture and decorative accessories); Apandana (rugs); Art Addiction (wall art); Barreveld International (furniture and decorative accessories); Chehoma (decorative accessories); DK Living (furniture and decorative accessories); Dust Furniture (furniture); Emporium Home (lighting); Fab Habitat (rugs); Kevin O’Brien (pillows, rugs, accessories); Made Goods (decorative accessories); Mastour (rugs); Rojo 16 (decorative accessories); Rug Market (rugs); Spruce (planters, garden décor); The Tommy Mitchell Company (decorative accessories); and Uptown Artwork (wall décor).

At Home featuring Home Textiles, located at the Javits Center, showcases some 200 mid- to high-end home textiles resources including bed and bath fashions, table linens, kitchen textiles, towels, decorative accessories, area rugs, window treatments and decorative fabrics. At Home featuring Home Textiles is one of four locations – the Javits Center, Pier 94, 7 West 34th Street and 230 Fifth Avenue – which comprise Home Textiles Market Week® in New York.

Newcomers to the winter 2013 edition of At Home featuring Home Textiles at Javits include April Cornell (bedding, table linens, home accessories); Bonjour of Switzerland (bedding); Eric & Christopher (pillows); Manito Linens (bedding and loungewear); Tabula Rasa (throws); and Tulu Textiles (bedding, pillows, accessories). Additionally, three companies are relocating into At Home featuring Home Textiles from other NYIGF divisions: Lili Alessandra (bedding, pillows, table linens); Maine Woolens (blankets, throws, baby blankets); and Pomegranate Inc. (table linens, kitchen accessories) – and six companies are returning following a hiatus from the New Yo rk Market – Darzzi International (throws, cushions, pillows, baby); European Art Design (table linens); Haute Home (bedding, pillows, towels), John Mahoney Designs Inc. (pillows, travel accessories); Nameeks (bath accessories); and Turkish-T (bath towels, beach towels, resort).

Companies expanding their presence in At Home featuring Home Textiles for the winter 2013 market include: Christian Mosso Group (bedding); Coyuchi (organic bedding and baby bedding); Scandia Home (bedding); Stamattina (bedding); and Suchiras (bedding).

Beyond exhibits, NYIGF also will offer several events and seminars for Home Textiles Market Week participants. On Saturday, January 26, from 9:00 to 10:00AM, Home Accents Today senior product editor Tracy Bulla presents “Fashion Forward – How Apparel Trends Impact Home Design.” The presentation, co-hosted by ART (Accessories Resource Team) will showcase current and future home fashion trends and will forecast what the best-dressed homes will be “wearing” next season.

Also on January 26, from 5:00 to 6:00PM, NYIGF will host an At Home welcome reception at Pier 94 to celebrate the market’s opening day. During this event, ASID’s NY Metro Chapter will bestow its “Best of the Best NYIGF Winter 2013 Awards” to select At Home exhibitors in seven categories – Imaginative Product Presentation; Innovative Product Design; Social Responsibility / Ecological Sensitivity; Lighting; Accessories; Textiles; and Wall Art. New York’s Chapter of the International Furnishings & Design Association (IFDA) will sponsor “Color Pulse 2014: From Theory to Selection,” on Monday, January 28, from 9:00 to 10:30AM. Topics include directional colors and emerging trend information which is influencing the future of design. John Turner of Benjamin Moore will present the company’s influential color forecast – Color Pulse®2014: Facets.

The Home Textiles Market Week Best New Product Awards will return this winter to spotlight design innovation in Bed, Bath, Dining and Home Accessories. Winners, as selected by a panel of trade and consumer editors, will be announced on Tuesday, January 29.

At Home runs Saturday, January 26, through Tuesday, January 29, at Pier 94; and At Home featuring Home Textiles runs Sunday, January 27, through Wednesday, January 30, at the Javits Center. At Home is one of 10 divisions presented semi-annually at the NYIGF.
