NYIGF Tabletop & Housewares Division expands in August

WHITE PLAINS, NY – An increased number of luxury tabletop and home entertaining lines and some 25 new and returning companies, will be among highlights in Tabletop & Housewares at the summer 2008 New York International Gift Fair (NYIGF). In total, some 200 companies will showcase a comprehensive collection of products for kitchen and table including tabletop, glassware, bake ware, kitchen gadgets, cutlery/flatware, kitchen textiles, table linens, barware and wine accessories.

Newcomers to the division include established brands and emerging lines, with a mix of both first-time participants and companies returning to the New York market. Notable newcomers include Sushi and pate boards crafted from Oregon Red Alder wood by Out of the Woods of Oregon; Linden Sweden’s modern European “add” line of utensils and serveware designed in beech wood and 18/10 stainless steel; and expressive wine accessories, such as the RoJaus decanter made of custom-blown glass, by WineDown Accessories of Nashville, TN.

Following its introduction at the winter 2008 market, “Accent on Tabletop,” a showcase concentration of design-driven companies bridging Tabletop & Housewares and Accent on Design, will expand its luxury tabletop and home entertaining products. Participants include: Alex Marshall; Atticus; Christopher Jagmin; Eigen Arts; Frances Palmer; Juliska; Karen Hansen; Kim Seybert; Le Sanctuaire; Lunares; Nouvel Studio; Patent Design A/S; Pescalito; Reach; Scaindia/Arvind Group; Tamara Childs; The Bodrum Group; The Homes James Collection; The Mane Lion; and WMF.

“NYIGF has developed a greater depth of category for gourmet buyers, and the show now presents 500+ suppliers of tabletop and housewares products,” said Dorothy Belshaw, GLM senior vice president and NYIGF director. “Tabletop & Housewares has expanded to feature 200 companies, with another 300+ ‘gourmet’ suppliers throughout the Fair. This, coupled with the Fair’s breadth of complementary lines, makes NYIGF a ‘must-attend’ summer and winter market for gourmet products.”

NYIGF is the nation’s premier gift and home accessory marketplace, with 2,800+ exhibitors featuring an extraordinary breadth and depth of design-driven home fashion products and complementary giftware. The 155th semi-annual NYIGF runs Aug. 16-21 at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Center, Metropolitan Pavilion and Passenger Ship Terminal Piers 92 & 94. Some 40,000 buyers from around the world are expected to attend. Additional information, registration and on-line advance planning tools are available at www.nyigf.com.
