Party for Life Raises More Than $200K

Despite a major snowstorm that day, Gift for Life’s 22nd annual “Party for Life” event – held February 3 at The Boathouse in Central Park in New York City – welcomed hundreds of attendees and raised more than $200,000 for Gift For Life’s charity partner, DIFFA: Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS.

Party for Life featured numerous NYC-themed food stations, multiple bars and a short program spotlighting the evening’s honorees: the Kurt S. Adler, Inc. company, which was honored with Gift for Life’s Chuck Yancy Lifetime Achievement Award; Clare Brett Smith, president emerita of Aid to Artisans, who received the Bert Tonkin Gift of Giving Award; and Norman Glassberg, founder of Trade Associates Group Ltd. (tag), who was honored posthumously with the Trailblazer Award – to be called the Norman Glassberg Trailblazer Award going forward.

In addition to recognizing industry legends, guests competed for a wide array of prizes at silent and live auctions including jewelry, home décor, vacation packages, market trips, marketing assistance and much more.

“No other industry event combines the fun, the networking and the generosity of the annual Party for Life,” states Stu Teller, Gift for Life chairperson. “Congratulations to our honorees, and thanks to everyone for helping make this event a big success.”
