Peepers Reading Glasses Brings the Gift of Sight To Hundreds In Need

Peepers Reading Glasses, a leading manufacturer of both classic and fashion-forward eyewear, recently donated nearly 1,000 pairs of glasses to multiple charitable ventures, including Soles for Souls and Himalayan Health. The product donations were in excess of $15,000 and allowed dozens of individuals – both young and old – to better view the world in which they live.

“Charitable giving has been an important part of our corporation since its inception more than 100 years ago,” said Alec and Lindsay Sammann, the co-owners of Peepers Reading Glasses. “Knowing that our products help individuals gain back their sight is truly inspirational. This is just one of the many reasons that our team loves what we do.”

The organizations Peepers has partnered with allow the company to get more involved in the lives of those living throughout the world. Two specific organizations are:
• Himalayan Health Exchange: “The Himalayan Health Exchange is a health care service program established by Himalayan Spirit Expeditions Inc. Its mission is two-fold: to provide medical and dental care to underserved people living in remote regions of the Indian Himalayas and to uplift two orphanages located in the North Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. Each trip provides a unique cultural experience and adventure, while working to help the needy.” (http://www.himalayanhealth.com/about.htm)
• Soles4Souls: “Soles4Souls collects new shoes to give relief to the victims of abject suffering and collects used shoes to support micro-business efforts to eradicate poverty. Soles4Souls other two divisions, Clothes4Souls and Hope4Souls, provide the same relief and support through clothing and other necessities.” (http://www.soles4souls.org/)

Over the years, the company has also partnered with other groups, including New Eyes for the Needy, a renowned charitable organization dedicated to recycling donated glasses for distribution to poor children and adults in developing nations around the world. (http://neweyesfortheneedy.org/)

In addition to helping those unable to afford eyewear, Peepers has been hard-at-work developing its designs for the summer 2012 markets. This season the company will launch more than 75 new styles, which can be seen at various shows, including Atlanta, Dallas and New York.

“Our loyal customer base is the sole reason we’re able to support charitable organizations and those suffering throughout the world. So, to keep our sales strong and products top-of-mind, we strive to continuously develop designs that are fresh, on-trend, and affordably-priced,” said Alec Sammann. Four of the hottest new Peepers glasses to hit the scene this summer are:
• All The Rage: A new take on an established classic, this series boasts bold, solid-colored, round frames in this season’s hottest colors.
• Class Act: Glasses for everything and everyone, this unique design pairs traditional tortoise with color – a favorite look for fall.
• Savoir Faire: Delivering retro-chic with style, these glasses offer a demurer business look in the front, but a statement color on the sides.
• Glamazon: Answering the call of the wild are these cat-eye frames, showcasing colorful animal prints.
