Mid-Year Introductions Debut at Peking Handicraft, Inc.

San Francisco, CA – San Francisco-based Peking Handicraft, Inc. continues to offer new, creative designs with more than 100 new 2007 Summer introductions. Items include rugs, hooked and needlepoint pillows, holiday and everyday guest towels, bedding, Christmas stockings and decor items and a new kitchen textile line. According to Derrick Lo, vice president of home decor, “Our customers will be pleased with the new additions to our quality, handmade collections and fresh designs by our renowned licensed artists. Based on early response, our new introductions will be very popular.”

Introduced in 2005, Peking Handicraft’s generously-sized, hand-hooked pillows offer great designs at appealing prices. “Our hooked pillows have proven to be very popular,” Lo says. “They add texture to a room and blend well with all decor styles.” The firm has added a number of new designs in hooked pillows, including a collection of sea life designs featuring a piece of coral, a sea horse, a starfish and shells and a “looks-good-enough-to-eat” red apple. In addition, the firm has expanded its Warren Kimble Collection with the addition of Cliff (cat) Hook Pillow and Checkerboard Bunny Hook Pillow. Kimble continues to be one of America’s most -loved folk artists, and Peking Handicraft’s Warren Kimble Collection has proven to be a perennial favorite.

Whimsical and Traditional Additions to Peking Handicraft’s Bountiful Holiday Collection

Peking Handicraft expands its wildly appealing Patience Brewster Holiday Collection with the introduction of whimsical reindeer, featured on guest towels, needlepoint stockings and needlepoint pillows. The quirky versions of Santa’s reindeer are dressed in delightfully outrageous outfits featuring a striped tutu, star-studded coat, fur-trimmed boots, “candelabra” antlers and more. The designs are offered on needlepoint pillows with candy cane striped borders, needlepoint stockings that boast curly green-and-red striped toes with red pompon accents and on linen guest towels, created with intricately detailed computerized embroidery*. Patience Brewster Holiday Collection: Needlepoint Stockings (14 designs), 11″ x 18″ MSRP: $36.00; Needlepoint Pillows (8 designs), 10″ x 10″ MSRP: $36.00

For more traditional holiday home decor, Peking Handicraft introduces new designs by acclaimed artist, Susan Winget. A fresh “bouquet” of yuletide blooms featured on generously sized guest towels will add color and sophistication to any holiday decor style. Created with computerized embroidery, the blooms appear to “come alive” as a result of the intricate detailing and shading achieved with the technique. Winter Garden Guest Towels, Set of 4 designs, 14″ x 22″ MSRP: $36.00

And, of course… New Rugs

Peking Handicraft is well known for its reputation as one of the leading rug manufacturers over the past 25 years. The firm offers beautiful designs, the highest quality and a wide variety of styles in its ever-growing collection of 100% wool, hand-hooked rugs. Two of the firm’s newest introductions are Chelsea Garden and Shaker Alarm Rugs.

The Chelsea Garden Hook Rug is available in two sizes and features an overall floral pattern in shades of red, peach and white flowers set against a brown background. 3’x5′ MSRP: $160.00; 4′ x 6′ MSRP: $270.00

The Shaker Alarm Hook Rug is reminiscent of bygone days, when the sound of a crowing rooster announced the dawn of a new day. Featuring a very prominent rooster, set against a farmyard scene with a rising sun, the 34″ x 47″ rug retails for $100.00 and would make a great addition to any kitchen, to welcome the morning and add charm throughout the day.
