PMI Introduces New Disney Series With a Precious Moments Touch

As a continuation of its successful Disney Showcase Collection, Precious Moments, Inc. introduces a new series of familiar Disney characters interpreted with a Precious Moments perspective. The extension was introduced at summer markets and will begin arriving at retailers in November.

In making the announcement, executive vice president Scott Bryson pointed to the significance of the new Disney series.

“The new addition to the Disney Showcase Collection provides us with an exciting series featuring one of the most highly recognized brands in the world,” said Scott Bryson. “The designs have been influenced by Precious Moments, while still being distinctly Disney, making them a must-have for Disney enthusiasts. The collection features classic Disney characters – Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Winnie the Pooh and Piglet – in the endearing poses and sentiments of Precious Moments figurines that are consumer/collector favorites. We are certain that Disney fans will embrace this concept.”

Handcrafted in fine porcelain bisque, the initial launch includes Mickey and Minnie Mouse as the bride and groom atop their convertible in Happily Ever After; Mickey shyly holding a rose for someone special, asking Will You Be Mine; and Mickey with arms wide open, proclaiming I Love You This Much. Each Disney character is attired in familiar Precious Moments outfits from previous Precious Moments series, in keeping with the original figurine. Standing between 4.5 and 5.0-inches high, the double figurine has a suggested retail price of $80; the single figurines have a suggested retail price of $40 each.

One of the most popular Precious Moments subjects is You Have Touched So Many Hearts. The interpretation with Winnie the Pooh shows him on a grassy base – complete with two bees — holding a banner of pink and blue cut-out hearts and wearing a joyful smile. It is 5.0-inches tall and has a suggested retail price of $45. In the second vignette, Pooh dons a fireman’s hat to drive the red fire truck, as Piglet rides shotgun, in the popular I’m Always By Your Side. This vignette is 4.25-inches high and has a suggested retail price of $50.

Mickey and Minnie Mouse pair up for a personalized offering, Just For You, with eight porcelain message posts designed in the shape of the familiar Mouse Ears. Each one carries a meaningful sentiment – Happy Birthday, World’s Best Mom, World’s Greatest Dad, BFF, Thank You, I Luv U, You’re The Best, and Congrats! – making the series an ideal gift for every occasion. The figurines are designed to hold the posts, which are sold separately and are approximately 5-in. high. Hand painted in the Precious Moments palette, the posts are 4.5-in. and have a suggested retail price of $4 each. The figurines have a suggested retail price of $40 each.
