Precious Moments, Inc. announces New Cobranded Elvis License
He was known as ‘The King of Rock ‘n Roll’ and it was easy to see from the start that Elvis Presley would take on the title of icon. Elvis starred in 33 successful films; made history with his TV appearances and specials; held record-breaking live concert performances on tour and in Las Vegas; and globally has sold over one billion records, receiving more awards than any other artist. More than 50 years after he walked into Sun Studio to make a recording for his Mother, Elvis lives on the heart and minds of millions of admirers.
Precious Moments, Inc. is proud to announce that Elvis joins the company’s lineup of licensed brands. What makes the Elvis license more significant is that the new license will co-brand with Precious Moments to create a unique series of Elvis product with a distinctive Precious Moments interpretation.
“This is the latest in our strategic plan to bring exceptional licenses into the PMI family,” says Susan Meek, Vice President of Licensing. “We are delighted to add Elvis to our licensed brands that enjoy an evergreen status – brands that have proven their longevity and consumer appeal. The new license calls for PMI to produce Elvis figurines, ornaments and waterballs. The initial roll-out is part of the upcoming June mid-year launch, with first delivery to retailers set for November. Elvis enthusiasts will find three favorite and familiar Elvis scenes cast in porcelain bisque, meticulously hand-painted, and executed with a Precious Moments touch. The 5.5-inch figurines are expected to retail for about $45 each.
In addition to the new Elvis license, PMI lines include Hello Kitty®, PM Disney, Disney Showcase®, MLB®, Ne’Qwa Art™, Pipka Old World Art™, BaZooples®, and the Precious Moments Collection™. In addition, PMI produces a wide range of special occasion and everyday giftware from the distinctive Precious Moments teardrop-eyed artwork of Sam and Debbie Butcher.
