Primo International Relocates Las Vegas Market Showroom
Whole-home source Primo International is relocating its Las Vegas Market showroom to space C-1412 for the Jan. 28 to Feb. 1 show.
The company had been showing in a similar, 18,000-square-foot space two floors lower in space C-1212 prior to this market.
In this new location, Primo International will enhance its product presentation to include more group settings and accessories, giving retailers “a better sense for how our products will look in their stores,” said John DeFalco, senior executive vice president. “We’re also freshening up the entire showroom with new paint, lighting and an inviting new entrance design. And we’re adding an entertainment area where our customers can gather to relax, trade notes and enjoy a meal or a drink.”
DeFalco said Primo will serve a homemade Italian lunch every day in the new space.
Primo International’s line includes leather and fabric upholstery, mattresses, futons, casual dining and youth furniture. Based in Montreal, where it has two distribution centers, Primo also uses independently owned stocking facilities in California and Virginia to service all of Canada and the continental United States. It offers both direct-container and warehouse stock programs to its retail customers.
At the winter market, Primo International will introduce a “huge amount” of new product, according to DeFalco. “About half of what we show will be new for Las Vegas.”
Introductions include a new dining collection, fresh stationary and motion upholstery designs in fabric and bonded leather, “Klik-Klak”-style sofa-sleepers and a range of innerspring and memory foam bedding. In addition, Primo International is rolling out a new Asian stocking program, offering 30-day mixed container shipping on best sellers as well as new products, including the latest bedding additions.
The Asian stocking program will involve multiple facilities in China. The initial program will feature stationary and motion upholstery, sofa-sleepers, futons and bedding. Down the road, the company hopes to expand the program to include products produced in Malaysia and Vietnam as well.
“If our retailers want to mix seven upholstery sets in the same container, our new program gives them the flexibility to do that,” said DeFalco. “We expect this program to draw a very enthusiastic response.”
