Fallbrook, CA – Fallbrook’s cozy village atmosphere seems ideal for Retro Candy & Toys, a throwback shop specializing in hard-to-find sweets and gifts. Owner Rick Hill told us what it’s been like to be the town’s candyman for the past two years.
This place is packed with goodies. What all do you sell? You won’t find the shopping experience here at any discount store or big-box retailer. We have Mallo Cups, Charleston Chews, Goo Goo Clusters, candy cigarettes and cigars, and wax lips and wax bottles just to name a few. And then we have a range of old-school gag toys, classic board games and die-cast collectibles. Plus 70 different flavors of sodas.
What are your most popular items? Saltwater taffy is huge — we have 60 different types. In toys, trolls are enormously popular all over again.
