Sellers Publishing Titles Tally Over $40,000 For Charities

Portland, Maine – Sellers Publishing is proud to announce that it has donated more than $40,000 to non-profit organizations dedicated to preventing and curing cancer. The money was generated through royalties from three of its book titles, Forty Things To Do When You Turn Forty, Fifty Things To Do When You Turn Fifty, and Sixty Things To Do When You Turn Sixty.

All contributing authors for these three titles provided essays on a pro-bono basis, allowing the royalties produced, $40,421, to go directly to charity. Among the charities are non-profit organizations such as the American Lung Association, National Breast Cancer Foundation, American Cancer Society, Prostate Cancer Society, and local organizations like the Maine Children’s Cancer Program and the Maine Cancer Foundation. Over the last two years, Sellers Publishing has donated to more than 10 cancer related vendors.

Each book is a compilation of essays from highly noted experts in their respective fields who offer personal recommendations, advice, tips and experiences on the subject of turning the ages of 40, 50, or 60 years old.

The first title in the series published was Fifty Things To Do When You Turn Fifty in Fall 2005, and offers advice from 50 experts, including names like Garrison Keillor, Bobbi Brown, and Harold Kushner. Its success brought Sixty Things To Do When You Turn Sixty to fruition in Fall 2006, and it includes 60 essays from the likes of Faith Ringgold, Gloria Steinem, and Nicholas Perricone, M.D. Forty Things To Do When You Turn Forty was released in 2007, and includes 40 experts such as Tim Hall, Nicole Chaison, and Nigel Marsh offering their tips on turning 40.
