Sterling, KS – There just might be a bear for everyone in Kay Pitts’ shop – children, fans of college and professional sports teams and, of course, custom orders – all, by default, with no particular kind of eyes sewn on.

“If it’s a kid, the first thing they do is chew on it,” Pitts said.

The local store owner says she never sews buttons on as eyes on her handmade teddy bears because buttons are a choking hazard for children who might receive them.
