Small Business Saturday: Steady Flow of Customers Seen by Stores Across the Berkshires
Berkshires, MA – Despite sluggish traffic on North Street in Pittsfield for much of the day, much of the Berkshires saw a big turnout for Small Business Saturday — a holiday many politicians, storekeepers, local chambers of commerce and consumers would like to see grow.
Main Street in Great Barrington perhaps saw the most activity.
“You never know if this is going to be a small business holiday or a mall holiday,” Jody Soules, owner of Wild Bird Country Store in Great Barrington, said. “This year, it looks like people are really investing in the local economy and small businesses. It was an old-fashioned, small-town shopping day.”
